Philosophy
Dr. Dauber believes the most important aspect of treatment is in including the patient in the process. He always starts with a thorough history and examination. Most issues can be diagnosed by just listening to the patient. Diagnostic testing such as x-rays, MRI scans or electrodiagnostic testing may be necessary to help confirm a diagnosis but are only ordered if appropriate. Once the proper diagnosis has be determined, Dr. Dauber believes in a conservative approach to most orthopedic issues. Surgery should be considered only as a last resort. Physical therapy, steroid injections, changes in posture and stress management as examples of conservative treatments Dr. Dauber may suggest to help with a patient’s orthopedic issues. If all conservative options have been exhausted, Dr. Dauber works closely with the fellowship trained surgeons of POSMC to help guide the patient on a surgical pathway.
